Do you feel as if you are stuck in quicksand?
Perhaps you feel sad, empty or helpless?
Perhaps some trauma or loss in your life prevents you from moving on?
Do you feel anxious, fearful and overwhelmed because of it?
Perhaps you want to move on? Feel that you should move on. Feel you have to move on, but you can’t?
But what if — just what if — being stuck isn’t the problem, but how you perceive it is?
If you identify with the situations described above, perhaps you also find that the more you struggle, the more you’ seem to get stuck and perhaps you find yourself going around in a circle. Ask yourself, is it getting you anywhere?
You keep doing what you are doing you keep getting what you are getting.
Although your logical mind might know this, you keep walking around in circles, only to create a deeper (mental) groove. There’s no point in keep going over the same old ground, in fact, continuously pondering about the problem will only get you deeper into the groove.
If you find yourself stuck in the situations described above, you may also find that the more you struggle, the more you seem to get stuck and perhaps you find yourself going around in a circle. Ask yourself, is it getting you anywhere?
Fact is, you cannot free yourself by digging deeper. Identify where you are in the process and ask yourself what is necessary to find another approach that helps you understand and address the underlying issue.
Sometimes we have to let go of the life we had planned to find the life that is waiting for us.
